Hello there. my name is kristen.
This is my story.
I hope it inspires you to recognize your value and to pursue your own audacious dreams.
After nearly 20 years as an at-home mom, I began law school. I promised to share my journey.
Nearly two years ago, when I told a good friend about my plan to attend law school after having spent eighteen years as a stay-at-home mom, she asked me to share my journey publicly.
"Because," she said, "seeing you do it will help other women feel like they can do it too."
That day, I promised to openly share my story. And so, even when doing so takes me outside of my comfort zone -- whether because I hate selfies, because it's uncomfortable to publicly acknowledge my struggles, or because I don't even know how to share my own successes -- I am committed to chronicling my story because I hope seeing my journey will help other people and other families consider how they want to create their own stories.
I have met countless women and girls who share with me some variation of my name throughout my life. I hope my everyday name makes it easy for everyday women and girls to recognize bits of themselves and their stories in me as I share mine.
